PRC launches first electronically distributed newsletter

Hello and welcome to this our first issue of the PRC newsletter. Through its dissemination, we wish to inform interested groups and individuals as to our latest accomplishments, upcoming events, and other highlights. Thank you for your interest.

Last year was a busy one, and 2003 promises to be even busier. We recently finalized our calendar of major events which will take us to Shanghai, Berlin, Tokyo, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and India to further promote and transfer the latest microelectronics packaging technologies: SIP, SOC, SIP. As we look toward the events to come, we see ever increasing interest and efforts being made in the area of Nano level packaging. We are very interested in Nano technologies, processes, and look forward with excitement at new discoveries that are sure to come.

About the Georgia Tech Microelectronics Packaging Research Center
The Microsystems Packaging Research Center (PRC) is housed in the Manufacturing Research Center building on the Georgia Tech campus. Established in 1994 as a U.S. National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center, the Georgia Institute of Technology Microsystems Packaging Research Center (PRC) is the largest center worldwide dedicated to System-on-Package (SOP) and microsystems packaging technologies. It comprises 7 academic departments, over 300 students, 30 faculty and 50 companies from around the world. The PRC offers unique and interdisciplinary degree programs at the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. levels as well as continuing education in SOP technologies. It also leads several conferences and workshops in packaging research and education. “This Class 1000 cleanroom is one of several state-of-the art facilities operated by the PRC”.
